Looking for something fun to do this fall with the whole family? One of my favorite fall activities to do in October is the Bethke Farm pumpkin patch. Included with the pumpkin patch is a corn maze with a fun quiz (there is a drawing for a $100 Meijer gift card!) and also a hayride! The hayride and corn maze are only $3 a person, and with the corn maze children under 5 years old are free!
Tips and info for your visit to the pumpkin patch:
Wear boots or some kind of shoe you don’t mind getting dirty or muddy. Since we’ve had rain the last few days the ground is very soft in the patch and some areas are a little muddy. As the month goes on some pumpkins do start to rot, and you don’t want to step in that.
Bring gloves and some garden snips. There are a few different varieties of pumpkins out in the patch and some of them are rough to handle or are hard to get off the vine. If you don’t want to pick your own pumpkins they do have a large section of pumpkins already picked.
Wanna bring your dog? No problem. Dogs must be leashed and are not allowed on the hayride but are welcome in the patch as well as the maze! There is also a large play area for the kids, including a large pirate ship, a “hay maze” and a pumpkin cut out for pictures!
Bethke Farms does take credit cards as well as cash and personal checks. Pumpkins are 40 cents per pound. They now have a weigh station that weighs your pumpkins right in the cart, and there are always free trunk liners to get your pumpkins home safely! They also sell gourds, mini pumpkins and corn stalks perfect for your fall décor.
