Spending the evening with Leeanna and Colin in Charlevoix, Michigan for their engagement session was such a blast. The first time we met to talk about their wedding, we discovered we have A LOT in common, mainly about our cats. We both have three cats, one that plays fetch and one that is a polydactyl. Crazy right? We were instantly friends, and they booked me on the spot for their wedding.
For their engagement session we met at Fisherman's Island Park and stopped at one of their favorite beaches to go rock hunting. If you're not from Michigan, it's a big thing to head to Northern Michigan for Petoskey stones (they are Michigan's state stone) as well as Charevoix stones. To give you an idea of what they are, it's fossilized coral both slightly different from each other.
Leeanna and Colin both love stone hunting so much that it was a big part of their proposal - and Leeanna almost ruined it!!! Here's the story of how it all went down from Leeanna "Us and two friends went up to Traverse City - the couple that came with us was a last minute invite, which turned into a good thing. We had planned on going to the beach upon arrival to go stone hunting. Little did I know, there are NO Petoskey stones or any of the like in Traverse City. As we drove by the beach to our hotel, I said to everyone, what a crock - we don't need to waste any time at the beach. Little did I know, I almost thwarted Colin's plan. He had been in secret cohorts with our friends, and had planned to propose on the beach! When we arrived at the hotel, everyone convinced me to just go and check it out. Boy, was I happy. We meandered around for 30 minutes or so, when Colin called me over. He said he had found a big one and I was so excited! I walked over, and he spun around on one knee, poured his heart out and proposed."
We couldn't have asked for better weather for the session, we were worried about rain but the sky and clouds was stunning! I am so excited for Leeanna and Colin's wedding day this fall, I know from their engagement session it's going to be amazing!
