KJ Events is a newer Grand Rapids based planning company by Kourtney and Jacqui. I recently worked with Jacqui (pictured below, who just had a beautiful baby girl!) on a promotional shoot for the Grand Rapids Wedding Gala, which they are putting on. I’m so excited to work with them not only on the Gala but also with weddings!

Below are a few of the questions I asked Jacqui about KJ events. If you’d like to learn more about KJ Events, visit their website or Facebook.

In a few of your own words, describe what you do. We are an event planning company out of Grand Rapids, MI specializing in day of coordination, partial, and full service planning.

What is the importance of your role(s) at a wedding? Making sure everything runs smoothly and allowing the wedding party and family to enjoy the day without having to make decisions and answer questions.

What Makes your business stand out? I [Jacqui] have worked in catering for over 3 years and Kourtney for 2 years. We have also dabbled in many aspects of the wedding industry; such as photography, catering, event coordination, design, floral, and interning with a wedding venue. Kourtney also attended CMU for public affairs and took courses in graphic design.

Where do you draw inspiration? From people's personal style and color palettes.

What do you love most about what you do? Seeing everything come together and the client being overjoyed with how it turned out.

Best advice for clients? Don't become overwhelmed with trying to have everything figured out at once. Let your planner know your likes and dislikes and trust you are in good hands. With that being said, make sure you hire someone you trust and mesh well together. Consultation meetings in person are important!

What wedding trend do you foresee loving? All of the different floral people are utilizing and the pampas grass.
