There is so much I can say about Ketra and Josh, but the biggest thing would have to be their love for each other and their love for God is so strong. Just being able to witness their strength as individuals with waiting to have their first kiss at the ceremony and their love, commitment and respect of each other's wishes through their whole relationship was a beautiful thing to witness. They are such a beautiful couple inside and out, thank you a million times over for being so incredible. I hope this new adventure together gets better each and every day.
Let's talk about Ketra and Josh's wedding day, both the ceremony and reception were at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. They did not to a first look, but prayed together privately before the ceremony. It was so moving and beautiful, and I know it helped calm their nerves before being in front of everyone. After that the bridesmaids and moms prayed over Ketra, it was super emotional and everyone was crying (including me!). What I thought was really cool was during the ceremony Ketra and Josh planted a tree together as a symbol of their unity together. The first kiss was one of my favorite moments of the whole day, everyone just erupted in cheers from the anticipation of this kiss. From there they had a pretty epic lavender toss outside the church, everyone really enjoyed it!
For the middle of May, the weather was PERFECT! It was a little on the warm side in the sun but we couldn't have asked for better weather. After the ceremony we took family and wedding party photos and then it was time for the bride and groom portraits!! We walked around campus, and Ketra wanted to stop at the auditorium she use to dance in, and have a dance with Josh, it was such a sweet moment. After the portraits, we headed to the reception to get the party started! The wedding party was hilarious and were hiding under the table from guests, everyone cheered when they popped up.
I asked Ketra about how her and Josh met, and here's what she had to say, "We met through church and went on a date to a coffee shop in Normal called Coffee Hound. We spent a few hours chatting and getting to know each other until we decided to walk down the street to get lunch together." Josh's proposal is just as cute, "We went out to dinner for our anniversary to Medici in Normal and afterwards walked down the street to the coffee shop where we went on our first date. Josh surprised me with flowers, a note, and proposed while our families secretly watched from outside the window."
All in all, it was truly a perfect day. Together, Ketra and Josh completely compliment one another. They are, indeed, a perfect match, and I am just bursting with joy that I got to document their love on their big day.

There are so many things I can say about Emily and Rodney, but they all boil down to how in love these two are. Their wedding last October was at Blue Dress Barn in Benton Harbor, Michigan and it was the perfect place for it. This wedding party and all the guests were troopers! The whole day was very cold with off and on rain, we were so lucky that the rain held off for the outdoor ceremony and most of the formal portraits.
Emily and Rodney’s love story is one I absolutely swoon over. From Emily about dating and Rodney's proposal: "We started dating, despite our extreme opposite and conflicting personalities, and never looked back. We are somehow so extremely different that we work perfectly. Our engagement story was as perfect as I could ever have imagined. It was Easter, he hid my ring in the last Easter egg that I was on the hunt for. He opened it and got down on one knee in front of my mom, dad, sister, grandma and grandpa in the front yard of my grandparents home. He knew that my small family was the most important thing to me, as well as my grandparents home that I basically grew up in. I got to share the moment with everyone I hold dear to me and I cried for pretty much 48 hours after because I was so overwhelmed with happiness!"
One of the coolest things about Emily and her family is that her and her Grandfather are woodworkers! She made the wood inlay for Rodney's ring and many of the decorations including the doughnut stand! Other cool facts: Emily, her grandpa and her dad all have matching tattoos of their family Crest on our left biceps. Her and Rodney have each others initials tattooed on their ring fingers and the pearls that she wore were given to her grandmother by her father when he was young.
One of my favorite parts of the day was the ceremony. Emily's uncle was the officiant, and of course he came with humor and quoted The Princess Bride, with hat included. Emily surprised Rodney with vows, they had agreed to just do simple pre-written ones, but she took it a step farther and wrote her own. It was filled with Harry Potter references and her confessing her love for Rodney, despite their differences. Rodney was really surprised, and it was such a sweet moment between them.
Emily and Rodney, your wedding day was so beautiful and so perfectly you. I am so beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure. Thank you a million times over for being so incredible; I hope this new adventure together gets better each and every day. Your love and compassion is contagious and I absolutely loved being surrounded by it on your wedding day.
