How long have you been doing weddings/how many weddings have you photographed?
I love this question and is why it’s the first one, I get asked it all the time! I started Sydney Marie Photography back in 2008 and in 2012 I switched from portraits to mainly weddings. Since then I have photographed over 150 weddings and counting! This is my career and my job, I love it so much and don't plan on changing it.
Can I see a full wedding/session from start to finish?
Of course! I love sending full wedding galleries, it shows what a full wedding day looks like and that every wedding is different. With the true to life style I photograph a wedding in May is going to look different than an October wedding.
Have you photographed at my venue?
I get a lot of questions about if I've photographed at specific venues. If I have not photographed a venue before I show up at least 15 minutes early to scope out the grounds and find places for portraits. I've photographed weddings pretty much at every type of venue, so I can also show some examples that are close.
Do you know how to use flash for my reception?
I got you! I love using off camera flash to light up receptions, ceremonies (if need be) and even night portraits. I've invested a ton of time and money into learning how to handle any lighting situation.
Can my wedding hours be split up?
While there may be times of the day that are slower, I'm there in your service regardless. Putting an hour or two between events isn't time that I'm able to use for anything personal outside of being "in wait" for shooting the rest of your wedding, and as such the hours are continuous.
What happens if you can't make it to my wedding?
I know this is a question no one wants to have happen with any of their vendors. I take my job very seriously and do everything in my power to stay healthy and not miss a wedding. This has never happened to me (knock on wood!) but I would only miss a wedding if I was in the hospital with something seriously wrong with me. I have photographed weddings while being sick, I take whatever medicine I can to make sure I am there for you. If something does happen, I have a network with several other photographers with a similar style to mine who would fill in and take over the wedding. Having a backup plan and even a backup plan to the backup plan is so important to me to insure you are taken care of.
What is the SMP Wedding Support Group?
One of the things I pride myself on with my couples is creating a connection with them, and the support group is a way for me to get more connected with my couples and also my couples to get connected with each other! Once you decide to book me, you will be added to the private support group that has past and present couples in there! I post tips and ideas on what’s best for photos, recommendations of other vendors and even talk more about my own experience being a bride. It’s an amazing little community and support group, weddings are stressful and it’s nice to have a group helping you along the way.
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
So here's the thing, I take a LOT of pictures on a wedding day but I don't give you every photo. Why? There are duplicate images, test images, blurry images, images with blinking or bad expressions, and other images that do not fit my standards. You hire me to have the expertise to select the best images from your session/wedding.
Do you touch up all of your images?
Of course! Every image delivered goes through post production before delivery. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, black and white processing, and other corrections.
Do you backup our images?
The answer is YES!!!! I backup images in multiple places as soon as I get home from your wedding/session. That is something that is SO important to me, I have invested in quality gear (as well as backup gear), surge protectors, external hard drives and cloud services. I’ve seen things happen to other photographers to where they lose a session or a wedding, and I do everything in my power to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Who is your second photographer?
I have a group of other professional photographers that I use; some of them have been working with me for around 2-5 years. They are all amazing and all have wonderful personalities. They are to help with whatever you need if I am not there and will be with me to help make your day as smooth and beautiful as possible. If you are not sure about adding a second photographer I always suggest over 150 guests is a good point to add one on.
I read on your about me that you're short, how do you photograph tall people?
No worries, I got you! I bring a step stool with me for family portraits to make sure everyone is at eye level. I know how to position myself and pose so nothing is awkward.
What should we wear for our session?
When you book with me I will send you a welcome guide full of outfit inspiration and tips!
When can we expect to see our photos?
Sessions are delivered within two to four weeks, and weddings within four to six weeks. If you need your images sooner, there is a rush-processing fee of $500.
How many images do we receive from our wedding?
I get this question a lot, and I totally get it. Professional photography is a huge investment and you want your money's worth. However, I don't give an exact number for either sessions or weddings. There are so many factors including weather, timeline, cooperation and whether or not there is a second photographer with me.
Do you photograph vow renewals, elopements and anniversaries?

What rights do I have to the digital prints?
Every wedding and session comes with digital images and print release. I have no problem with you printing your images - just be aware that not every place you can get prints are printed the same. You're not going to get the same quality from my print lab vs Walmart.
Do you have Liability Insurance?
Yes. Many venues require photographers to have Liability Insurance. It's something that is super important to me and my business, I want to keep both of us safe.

Weddings are officially booked with a signed contract and a reservation fee of 30% of your total balance. Remaining balances are due 30 days before your date, and can be paid in a payment plan that works for you.
